We wish to introduce you to BIMA, a medical association created by a group of renowned medical professionals, with extensive international reputation and solid academic and research background, who have joined efforts to consolidate Barcelona as an International Centre of Excellence in healthcare and in the area of health and human diseases.

The city of Barcelona has highlighted medical excellence, research and innovation as one of its mains strategic objectives, thus facilitating the emergence of some of the most important health&research centres in Europe. The modern transport facilities (airport, high-speed train) and the extensive hotel network of the city have also been essential to this emergence.

“A medicine for people, not just for patients, medicine for health instead of illness”

Inspired by this principle, we can summarize BIMA values in:

EXCELLENCE. Commitment to excellence in international medical care, research and education, BIMA offers a comprehensive panel of internationally recognized experts, who are key opinion leaders (KOL) in these fields for national and international administrations. BIMA’s health professionals aim at providing customized medical care to patients requiring specialized medical treatment.
ETHICS. Honesty, integrity and professional medical ethics.
RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility and accountability in decisión making.
INTERNATIONAL. International cooperation and collaboration.
INNOVATION. Quality and continuous innovation in the medical and innovation fields.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Yours faithfully,

Antonio M de Lacy, MD, PhD
President

Bima members atributes

BIMA has brought together the most outstanding medical professionals in Barcelona.

Because the members of BIMA must be internationally recognized experts in their field, new members must follow a rigorous selection process based on extremely demanding criteria of excellence (click here to view the criteria of excellence).

BIMA professionals are not only recommended by our members, but they undergo an evaluation process by a Membership Accreditation Committee.

The Membership Accreditation Committee consists of external international experts, professors and doctors of medicine who are key opinion leaders in their respective fields [click here to view the list of experts/evaluators].
